BIRMINGHAM – Plans are underway for the 2012 Children’s of Alabama Illuminations Ball, presented by Protective Life Corporation. The Ball will be held at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center on Friday, Nov. 9, beginning at 6 p.m. For tickets or more information, including how to donate auction items, contact Beth Serotsky at (205) 638-7478.

The evening will include a seated dinner with live music from one of the area’s top entertainers, The Ray Reach Band, and both silent and live auctions conducted by Christie King with CKing Benefit Auctions. The Auction Committee includes Fiona Watts, Tracy Pharo, Katherine Brown, Molly Stone, Heather Lebensberger and Tammy Yeager. Interiorscapes, Inc. is coordinating the décor for the event.

The Illuminations tree display will take place in both the McWane Building and Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children lobbies from Nov. 5 – Dec. 3.

Families across the state are invited to visit Children’s to see lights, exquisitely designed Christmas trees, holiday décor and a spirit that encompasses this special time of year.  The event is free and open to the public and is a wonderful opportunity to gain inspiration and ideas from the region’s top designers.

Approximately 40 spectacular trees will be designed by individuals, companies and organizations from throughout the Birmingham area as part of the Illuminations tree program held each year in conjunction with the Children’s of Alabama Illuminations Ball.

The display of trees in the hospital’s lobbies continue to brighten the lives of patients, families and visitors for three weeks prior to being delivered to each sponsor’s business, residence or favorite charity.

The presenting sponsors for the 2012 Illuminations tree program are HOAR and Sirote & Permutt, PC.
